Media Release: 2 June 2026 Asiana Airlines Launches Daily Night Flights from Sydney to Seoul to Meet Soaring Travel Demand SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - Asiana Airlines, in partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Sydney office, has officially announced a major schedule change for its direct Sydney to Seoul (Incheon) route. From June 8th to October 24th, 2026 , Asiana Airlines (Flight No. OZ602) will transition to an evening departure from Sydney, landing passengers in Korea the following morning. This strategic shift introduces a highly competitive schedule to the market. While other direct flights on this route depart Sydney in the morning and arrive in Seoul late at night, Asiana’s new daily night flights allow travelers to maximize their time. Passengers will depart Sydney at 9:00 PM and touch down at Incheon Airport at 6:30 AM the following day, giving them the complete freedom to start exploring Korea the very morning they arrive. To accommodate the beginning of Australian Daylight Saving Time (AEDT), the schedule will slightly adjust from October 4th to October 24th, 2026 , with flights departing Sydney at 9:45 PM and still arriving in Incheon at 6:30 AM the next morning. Beyond saving precious holiday hours on the ground, the late-night departure opens up seamless, same-day domestic connections for interstate Australian travelers. It also allows an optimised transit option for travellers across the pond in New Zealand, eliminating the previous need for an overnight stopover in Sydney before heading north. For those looking to venture further, the early morning arrival in Seoul also unlocks immediate, same-day connecting flights to over 60 global destinations across Asiana Airlines’ extensive international network. The launch comes at a time when global demand for South Korea is reaching unprecedented heights. Propelled by the unstoppable global phenomenon of Hallyu (the Korean Wave), K-beauty, and culinary tourism, South Korea has broken its own travel records, welcoming over two million international visitors per month for the last two consecutive months. "Up until now, standard morning flight schedules meant losing a full day of vacation to transit," says Mr Jingu Jung, Regional Director at Asiana Airlines. "Asiana’s new daily night flights are a definite win for Aussie and Kiwi holidaymakers, meaning a more efficient schedule that maximises time on the ground and unlocks effortless network connectivity through our Incheon hub." "Korea is absolutely booming on the global stage right now, and we are seeing historic, record-breaking crowds wanting to experience the country's culture, food, and energy," says Mr Hyeongjoon Kim, Director at the Korea Tourism Organization Sydney. "This new overnight schedule allows travellers to step off the plane first thing in the morning and dive straight into their Korean adventure without missing a single moment of holiday time." With the peak travel season fast approaching and global visitor numbers continuing to climb, KTO and Asiana Airlines are encouraging Australian travellers to lock in their itineraries early to avoid missing out - whether they are planning a getaway during the Australian winter (Korea’s vibrant summer) or looking ahead to the Australian spring (Korea’s spectacular autumn peak).
